The fishing picked up briefly on Monday after the north east wind that we had last weekend. The Judy V. had some decent catches of keeper flounder and we actually saw some keeper sea bass it the rail. But it was short lived and we have returned to slow picking again.

Welcome to another fishing season on the Judy V. out of Indian River Marina.
The fishing season has gotten off to a very slow start to say the least. With the water temperature still low and the wind constantly blowing it has been a bad combination for this year so far.
We started the season with some black sea bass but all the keepers are offshore about 25 mile or so. That makes it darn near impossible to fish for them on a 4 hour trip.
So we changed things up and fished for the blue fish for a while. That was pretty nice fishing for about a week or so. And then they said bye-bye. So we switched over to flounder fishing.
The flounder have not really made an appearance out there either. The Capt. Bob II had a full day trip on June 18th and that was the best trip so far. They ended up with about a dozen keepers and had over 40 throw backs. Since then it has been a slow pick on both flounder and black sea bass for both boats. There are plenty of sea robins out there and we have seen some ling cod too.
But both boats are still running everyday. As long as the weather co-operates, we will keep fishing.
Remember it is called fishing...not catching. It makes for a tough season, but there is always a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

June 9, 2016
The Judy V. is fishing daily on half day trips now and the fishing is showing some signs of improvement. Since last report the sea bass were slowing down and, we were and still are, seeing mostly short fish with just a few keepers coming over the rail. But things are starting to look up with the flounder bite warming up. Since Monday's trip we have seen a steady increase in the number of bites and fish actually making it over the rail. Tuesday's trip we saw 10 keepers for the boat with 20-30 misses from short bites and those trying to set the hook too early. Some hooks came back up empty. Wednesday's trip was a bit bumpy and the wind was against the tide, but still managed a couple for the cooler.
We are currently running the Capt. Bob II for full day fishing trips on Saturday and Sunday. June 13th will be the start of our Lazy Man's Trip with 4 hour fishing trips from 10am-2pm.
Make your reservations now by either calling 302-226-2214 or on online.

The Judy V. and the Capt. Bob II are now fully operationally and ready for a great summer season. We have been running the Judy V. for half-day trips and getting some black sea bass. Although not as productive as in earlier weeks we are still seeing fish hit the coolers.
The size is getting harder to get, but if you work at it long enough you can get a few to take home. The larger fish have moved out further so we are seeing smaller fish inside.
The Capt. Bob II is running full day trips on Saturday and Sunday. 7am-3pm and our first trip was tough. Again the same thing happened, a lot of fish, but not many keepers.
The Lazy Man's trip will begin it's schedule on June 13th. 10am-2pm for all of you that do not like to hear that alarm clock so early while vacationing.
Remember to make that reservation early, as certain times and dates fill up fast. Online or 302-226-2214.

Here are some pictures from our first full day trip of the year on the Judy V.
Lots of nice people as well as tog. Hooked up on site 10 and used green crabs to catch some good eating
July 31, 2015
Fishing on the head boat Judy V. and Capt. Bob II has been good to great some days. The flounder bite has been great on days when the drift is good. The best day for the Judy V. was on an afternoon trip when we had over 25 keeper flounder come back to the dock with a lot of throw backs in the mix. The Capt. Bob II on the Lazy Man's trip has seen keeper flounder all week not everyone is lucky enough to catch a keeper, but there are some that have gotten their limits.
Remember, the Judy V. fishes daily from 8am-12pm and the Capt. Bob II fishes Monday - Friday 10am-2pm and Saturday and Sunday are the full day trips from 7am-3pm. Please call 302-226-2214 to make a reservation.

Glad winter is gone and spring is finally here!!!! Welcome to another year of fishing on the Judy V. and the Capt. Bob II. We are working hard to get the boats ready for the upcoming year of some great fishing.
The Capt. Bob II got pulled this year and is getting some much needed TLC. But don't worry, your favorite boats will be ready for the upcoming fishing seasons.
We look forward to seeing our customers again this year for another fun filled trip of catching fish.

Just because Labor Day has passed and the crowds have thinned out, don't think that means the fishing season has ended. The Judy V. is still fishing daily from 8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm and smacking the flounder like nobody's business.
We have had a great week of flounder fishing on the morning and afternoon trips (when we have gotten out) with most people catching their limits and some fish weighing in up to 6.5lbs.
Here are pictures from those trips.
July 14, 2014
Since last report, the Judy V. has been fishing for mostly croaker and flounder. Some days we have seen more keeper flounder than others. We have seen a small improvement in the black sea bass, but it still isn't anything to get too excited about. What we have seen is still more of throw back size than keepers.
The black sea bass just haven't been around the local areas that we have been fishing. To be honest the boats that are fishing out further aren't even seeing the numbers that we should.
The Lazy Man's trip on the Capt. Bob II at 10am has been fishing for the same, but we were lucky to have some trigger fish show up one day. Good eating fish!!! Again, some days see more fish than others.
The full day trip on the Capt. Bob II on Saturday had a great day of flounder fishing. Capt. Roger brought back 22 keeper flounder from that trip.
The conditions have to be just right for the fish to bite sometimes and if the drift is either too fast or too slow, you won't catch fish.
Our half day trips are running daily on the Judy V. 8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm. And the Capt. Bob II is doing its "Lazy Man's Trip" from 10am-2pm Monday through Friday, with the full day trip on Saturday and /unday 7am-3pm. Give us a call to make a reservation at 302.226.2214 or submit an online reservation.
Adult rates for half day trips are $45 (add $6 for rod rental), children 12 and under are $30 with FREE rod rental.
Adult rates for full day trips are $80 (add $8 for rod rental), children 12 and under are $55 with FREE rod rental.
Bait is supplied.

The Judy V. and the Capt. Bob II have been fishing daily now and are seeing some fish being brought back to the dock.
For the most part the black sea bass bite has been way off from what it should be this time of year.
The flounder are making an appearance early though. We have seen some flounder caught but again they are not in large numbers.
Some days we are having nice catches of croakers, but they come and go and decide one day they are hungry the next day maybe not.
So truth be told, there are fish being caught but it is just not the best yet. Let's keep trying though, don't give up hope.
This weekend the Indian River Marina will be holding a Kid's Catch ALL Tournament. Any child that would like to enter to fish on the Judy V. must register on Friday night June 27th between 6pm-8pm or Saturday morning between 6am-8am. The cost is $25 for the entry fee. A reservation is required to make sure there is adequate space available.
The child will get free passage on board the Judy V. with a paying adult. (This is a savings of $30) Print out the form and have it ready when you arrive to save some time. This tournament will benefit the Lyme's Disease Awareness Program of the Eastern Shore.
It looks to be a fun time for the kids with food, prizes and awards!!! Come on out and make a family day of fun.

Fishing on the Capt. Bob II has been off to a slow start with a few keeper sea bass being caught and a keeper flounder making it to the cooler.
We are still fishing daily 8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm.
Call for reservations at 302-226-2214

August 22, 2013
Fishing on the Judy V. and the Capt. Bob II has improved since Sunday. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we had some nice numbers of flounder coming into the dock. These fish have also been on the large size. We have been seeing fish anywhere from 2lbs up to 6lbs. We are still running our daily half-day trips on the Judy V. at 8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm until mid October.
The Capt. Bob II's last day of the Lazy Man's Trip is Friday, August 23rd, after that we will continue to run full day trips on Saturday and Sunday.
Here are some pictures from the past few days
August 13, 2013
The head boats Judy V. and the Capt. Bob II have been fishing every day. We are fishing for black sea bass and flounder. We have had some hard fishing as of late, with little black sea bass or flounder making it on board. I am not going to lieto you and tell you we are catching coolers full of fish. Yes, some days are better than others but overall the fishing has been slow.
We have had some decent days of flounder fishing. There have even been a couple of days when I would even say it was very close to being good.
Despite the slow bite here are some pictures of the recent catches from the Judy V. and the Capt. Bob II
Saturday, July 6, 2013
Since July 3rd things have started to pick up in the fishing action on both the head boats. The Judy V. had some nice flounder yesterday with 14 keepers coming to the dock. There were a few black sea bass, but still those are slim. Maybe with the warmer temperatures things will pick up on that front as well.
Capt. Bob II trips through the week are bring in flounder too. The Lazy Man's Trip....for those of you that want to sleep in on vacation is doing well. That trip runs from 10am to 2pm Monday - Friday. On Saturday and Sunday we run full day trips, so there is more fishing time for you.
Here are some more pictures from the latest catch on Friday and today
July 5, 2013
After several days of wind and rain we have some clearing and better fishing. We are seeing some fish come to the docks.
There are still more flounder coming in than sea bass, but there are a few here and there that manage to make the 12 1/2 inch size limit. Flounder are now down in size from 18 inches to 17 inches which sometimes makes it easier to bring in a keeper.
Here are some pictures of some of the catch from this past week.
Gabriel from Washington, DC with a 4.2lb flounder that was caught on the Lazy Man's trip, 10am-2pm trip on the Capt. Bob II
And here is Thomas and Joseph, from Wilm., DE with 2 keeper flounder also caught on the Capt. Bob II's Lazy Man's trip 10am-2pm.
June 20, 2013
Today was a great day on both the 8am trip on the Judy V. and the 10am trip on the Capt. Bob II. Both trips caught and kept fish today. We saw quite a lot of flounder come in and a few keeper black sea bass.
The afternoon trip reported some black sea bass with some croakers in the mix.
The captains reported that most of the black sea bass are still throw backs, but a few managed to make their way back to the dock.
Here are some pictures of the day's catch.......
June 12, 2013
We had five keeper flounder on board today, but only two of which let me get there picture.
Here are the pictures from today's catch
Nick King of Chambersburg, VA
David Wood of Greenbackville, VA
and Ben Jacobs of Ocean View, DE with seabass
June 12, 2013
Finally some good news to report.....the Judy V. is out today and Capt. Roger has reported in to let us know that there are some keeper flounder on board as well as some keeper black sea bass. Now keep in mind there are still a lot of fishing being caught but not all of them are making it back to the dock. We will post some pictures later when the boat gets in at noonish.
Keep checking back!
June 4, 2013
Fishing on the Judy V. is off to a slow start due to the never ending wind. But when we do get out the sea bass are biting, mostly throw backs but there are a few keepers showing up to the docks. Still fishing everyday on our half-day trip. 8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm. Call to make a reservation.
Here are some pictures from our last trip....
August 6th, 2012
The fishing on both the Judy V and the Capt. Bob II have been outstanding. Most days people are coming in with nice amounts of both black sea bass and flounder. There are days that you will see more flounder than bass and other days where you will see more bass than flounder. This is all dependent upon the drift and the wind or lack of wind.
There are many days that we are filling up on the morning trip on the Judy V. so we are encouraging reservations. You don't have to pay in advance just call or use our online reservation form (24 hour notice please)leave your last name and the number of people you have. If you don't like getting up early, consider our 10am-2pm trip on our Capt. Bob II. We are running those Monday through Friday.
Our full day trips run on Saturday and Sunday, call for availability.

The first day of summer is sure a hot one!!! The Judy V. is now sailing everyday and catching some sea bass, flounder and blue fish. While there are a lot of fish being caught some are being thrown back but there are still plenty keepers coming over the rail.
Flounder are still making an appearance, but not in any large numbers yet. We have however seen keepers come in to the dock.
We are running 1/2 day trips everyday, full day trips Friday-Monday and new this year on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is a 4 hour trip from 10am-2pm.
Please call to make a reservation or for your convenience use our online form.
The wind has been blowing since Monday so we haven't been able to get out since then. It doesn't look too hot for the rest of the week as of right now, but you never know, things could change.
But in the mean time....fishing before that was pretty good. Some day were better than others, but that's why they call it fishing and not catching....right?
Black sea bass and a few flounder have been showing up. We have been fishing the open bottom over the coral beds. Mostly using salted clams for the sea bass with some squid occasionally. The flounder are being caught on shiners.
We hope that maybe we will be able to get out on Sunday, but we can take your name and phone number for a reservation and give you a call the night before to let you know if the weather is going to be fit.
Until then....cross your fingers for the wind gods to turn the fan off.
June 16, 2016
With the predicted winds for this coming weekend we are not expecting to see to much in the way of any fish, but the weather man has known to be wrong....A LOT.
Fishing on the head boat Judy V. has been up and down over the past week. With the wind playing a big factor in that. When the drift and the wind were right we saw some flounder come over the rail. When the wind was against the tide....forget about it. Not a fish to be had. But overall we have seen an increase of flounder with each trip. We did get one more trip in today (Thursday) before the wind and managed to bring a few back to the dock.
The Capt. Bob II has begun running the Lazy Man's trip. This is a trip designed for those that do not like to roll out of bed quite so early. It leaves at 10am and returns by 2pm. And this first week, although off to a slow start was very productive for flounder fishing. We are seeing some nice fish from that trip. Now keep in mind that the flounder fishing is just starting out and it is not fantastic but it has been good.
The Judy V. is running daily with two 4 hour trips daily. 8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm. Call to make reservations for your upcoming fishing trip.
Just a reminder...... the 4th of July fireworks cruises are not that far off. We will be running a trip to Rehoboth on July 3rd and one to Bethany on July 4th. Call now and purchase your tickets before we fill up. 302-226-2214
